U.S. joins Canada in calling for ‘immediate release’ of detained Canadians in China

It’s now been nearly two weeks since China detained two Canadians for allegedly endangering national security. Now, Canada and its allies are pushing back with their strongest diplomatic language yet, accusing Chinese authorities of detaining Michael Kovrig and Michael Spavor without cause and calling for them to be promptly freed.
