Supporters of the President say the wall will stem the flow of people entering the US.
But the President’s rhetoric of steel barriers to stop migrants crossing the border has angered Democrats.
In the Response to the State of the Union address, Georgia’s Democratic governor candidate Stacey Abrams said the Trump administration were ‘tearing families apart’ at the border.
