Former Presidents Barack Obama and George Bush led the memorial service to the Vietnam war hero and Arizona Senator John McCain.
His daughter Meghan was the first to speak at the service paying an emotional tribute to her father.
She also appeared to criticise President Trump, who was not present, when describing the America her father loved.
