The oommon thread that runs through all the tragic school shootings is hunting culture. Why is the house full of guns? Because Daddy is a hunter and has taught Junior that blasting living bodies to death is fun. Thus robbed of the capacity for empathy for animals who are equally capable of fear and suffering as humans, he can easily transfer his aggression to any other beings who are helpless in the face of his weapon of mass destruction.
