Florida authorities say there are multiple fatalities after a mass shooting at a mall in downtown Jacksonville, Florida.

Preliminary news reports say 11 people have been shot and witnesses say there are four dead.

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said a suspect is dead but they did not know if there were additional gunmen and are treating it as an active shooting scene.

“Stay far away from the area…The area is not safe at this time. STAY AWAY,” The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office wrote on Twitter.

Authorities also used Twitter to tell those who were still hiding at the scene of the shooting to call 911 to help police locate them. Those in hiding were also warned not to “come running out,” as SWAT teams are conducting a search.

The shooting took place during an online gaming tournament at a restaurant and sports bar.
