President Donald Trump, on Saturday, Dec. 15, said a federal judge’s ruling that the Affordable Care Act, or Obamacare, unconstitutional, was a “great ruling for our country”.
U.S. District Judge Reed O’Connor in Fort Worth, Texas, on Friday sided with a coalition of 20 states that argued requiring people to pay for insurance coverage is illegal because a change in tax law last year eliminated a penalty for not having health insurance.
“Let’s say ‘Repeal and Replace’ handled a little differently,” Trump said to describe the effect of the ruling, referencing previous Republican-led efforts to end the program which has given some 20 million more Americans health insurance coverage since it went into effect in 2010.
Trump was speaking after a short tour in the rain of Arlington National Cemetery, where hundreds of thousands of Holiday wreaths are placed each year next to the graves of veterans.
