The Swedish general elections will be held on 9 September. The three major parties competing against each other are the Social Democrats, Conservative Moderates and the Sweden Democrats. Current prime minister Stefan Lofven belongs to the Social Democrats and plans to impose taxes on Bank operations and increase higher capital taxes on the rich. While the center-right bloc Moderate party has promised to lower the income tax being imposed. But among all of this is the nationalist Sweden Democrats party that has been lobbying against current immigration laws. If the Conservative Moderates plan to form a minority government then the Sweden Democrats might have a chance.
