Trucks Loaded With Aid Set On Fire at Venezuela-Colombia Border

One truck in a convoy attempting to bring humanitarian aid into Venezuela from Colombia went up in flames on Saturday, Feb. 23, sending plumes of dark smoke into the air, as footage from a Venezuelan television channel showed.
Crowds started removing boxes of supplies from a second truck, the footage showed, the same day Venezuelan troops loyal to President Nicolas Maduro fired tear gas and rubber pellets at opposition supporters seeking to deliver food and medicine.
Venezuela’s embattled Maduro denies any crisis in his country and has refused to allow international aid despite often-empty supermarket shelves, long lines for government-subsidized food, and hospitals lacking in basic supplies and medicines. (Reuters)
