The so-called Carr Fire has now claimed the lives of five people, after it was confirmed two firefighters and an 81-year-old bulldozer operator were also killed.
Seventeen people are still missing while tens of thousands were forced to flee their homes after the fire, which started on Monday, jumped the Sacramento River entering Redding.
