Vietnam President Tran Dai Quang has died aged 61 after a “prolonged serious illness”.
Quang, the second-most powerful figure in the country and the frontrunner to take over as general secretary of the Communist Party, passed away at a military hospital on Friday, according to the official Vietnam News Agency.
