One of Latin America’s most revered priests is set to be declared a saint by the Catholic Church.
Archbishop Oscar Romero was assassinated in El Salvador nearly 40 years ago during the violence of the nation’s civil war.
Until recently, the Roman Catholic Church had been accused of blocking his canonisation because of his perceived left-wing views.
